Are you traveling this holiday season? A lot of us are, and it can be a stressful, busy time that disrupts our routines. That's why your Lincoln, NE, dentist has tips, tricks, and reminders on how you can make this holiday season safe for your smile.

4 Travel Tips for Your Smile

Here are some things to remember as you embark on your holiday travels.

  • Pack with Purpose — Don't forget your tooth essentials when you're packing—toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouth rinse. Packing your items in a protective container is also a good idea.
  • Drink Plenty of Water — Stay hydrated this holiday season! Especially if you're traveling. Hydration nourishes your body and oral health. It helps combat common conditions like dry mouth, which can contribute to tooth decay and cavities.
  • Monitor Your Stress Levels — The holidays can be stressful. Don't forget to pack your nightguard to wear during sleep if you suffer from bruxism (tooth clenching and grinding). Your night guard will help you sleep more comfortably and protect your teeth from damage.
  • Minimize the Impact of Sweets — Whether you're traveling or hosting family and friends at home, monitoring your sugar intake will help protect your smile. Eating sweet treats alongside meals helps minimize their negative impact. Drinking water with meals can help too.
