Early Detection of Tooh Decay Using DIAGNOdent

Our office now offers a new diagnostic method that can more accurately define caries in teeth – DIAGNOdent Laser Caries Detector. This unique service can detect caries at the earliest stage by projecting a safe, painless laser onto the tooth’s surface. If decay is present, an alarm will go off. The DIAGNOdent Laser Caries Detector is over 80 percent more accurate in detecting even the smallest lesions that don’t appear on X-rays and can detect decay in even the harder-to-reach places, like the grooves and pits of your molars! The DIAGNOdent Laser Caries Detector boasts a high patient acceptance and satisfaction with its quick, simple and painless nature, and early detection of decay enables us to better preserve and protect your teeth.

Digital Radiography (X-Rays)

Dental Digital Radiography/Digital Dental X-Ray: Radiographs are a diagnostic tool we could never practice without. Most offices still use traditional dental x-rays. We have made the commitment to provide a better and safer alternative with dental digital radiography. Digital radiography has been shown to be every bit as diagnostic, and more. With better resolution, dramatically reduced radiation to the patient, and the ability to zoom into parts of the image, digital dental X-ray is more friendly to the patient, and to the doctor. Add to that the ability to archive in original quality, or to send a perfect digital copy, and you will begin to see how dental digital radiography is state of the art.

Dental Ultrasonic Scaler

In order to provide the best management and prevention of periodontal disease, we use the dental ultrasonic scaler. This device can remove stains on teeth as well as tough calculus, also known as tartar. Our dental ultrasonic scaler is top-notch when it comes to a complete and comfortable teeth cleaning.

Acucam Intraoral Camera

The standard X-ray is essential in determining any dental problems you may have, but unfortunately, it may not reveal everything happening inside your mouth. We are proud to utilize an Acucam Intraoral Camera in our office. An Acucam Intraoral Camera is a small hand-held device, similar to the size and design of a dental mirror. It can project a high quality, high-resolution image of your teeth onto a monitor, so you can see the problem in a magnified version and see how we can correct the issue. It can also identify problems that may not be detected by the general means of examination, including cracks in your fillings or fractured teeth. An Acucam Intraoral Camera allows you to make better decisions regarding your treatment as you can see the same things we see.
