Lisa, Registered Dental Hygienist


Lisa graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry in May, 1987 with a BS in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced her profession with Dr. Hedlund and ACFD for a total of 27 years. A past president of the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association, Lisa served on the executive board for 19 years. She is currently the coordinator of the hygiene department at ACFD. Lisa lives in Syracuse with her children, Sydney and Cody and is active in her church. Music, gardening, and attending sporting activities, are among her hobbies. When asked to comment on the practice Lisa stated, “ACFD is a comprehensive family dental practice which strongly emphasizes oral health as it relates to overall systemic health. Our strengths include an experienced, friendly team, professional technology and extended hours for patient convenience. I love my profession and I’m happy to be working in the health sciences. I thoroughly enjoy the daily interaction that I have with my patients and co-workers”.

Amanda, Patient Coordinator

Amanda_19Dec2014.jpgAmanda became an employee of ACFD in December of 2006, after graduating from the dental assisting program at SCC the previous March. Having served the practice as a dental assistant and patient coordinator, Amanda understands all aspects of dentistry which is extremely valuable when assisting patients with treatment plans, insurance and scheduling appointments. She enjoys the opportunity to converse with every patient who walks through our door or calls our office. Amanda and her husband Lars are the parents of Luka, born in June of 2012 and Nora, born in October of 2014. She loves spending time with her family.

Carol, Registered Dental Hygienist


Carol has been a Registered Dental Hygienist with Dr. Treat and ACFD for 25 years. Prior to that she worked as a hygienist in a periodontal practice for 10 years. Her comments about the practice include, “Our Dr.'s give us a great deal of respect and appreciate our skills and knowledge. They consult with their hygiene team and value our thoughts on the best way to handle your periodontal health. Gums and the supporting bone structure are the hygienist specialty, hard tissue your teeth are the Dr.'s and we make a good team. I am proud to be a part of this practice because our Dr.'s respect and utilize our skills”. Along with her husband of 36 years, Carol very much enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and time with family. They have four children (two by marriage) and five grandchildren. Each one makes them feel very proud and bring great joy into their lives.

Joanie, Practice Administrator


Joanie’s career in Dentistry began with ACFD 18 years ago. Serving as the practice administrator, she states, “I truly appreciate the relationships that I have developed with the patients of our practice and the confidence that they have in our team. I am thankful and fortunate to work with an outstanding group of dental professionals who provide exceptional care to the patients of ACFD”. Joanie and her husband Kevin enjoy traveling and spending time with family, especially grandchildren; Kennedy, Avery, AJ, Maggie, Sam, Lillie and Mya.

Kristin, Registered Dental Hygienist

Kristin_19Dec2014.jpgKristin graduated from UNMC College of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in May, 2004 and started her tenure with ACFD that same month. She is a member of the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association and her hobbies include; traveling, spending time with family, cooking, tailgating and cheering on the Huskers.

Kari, Dental Assistant


An experienced dental assistant and 2005 graduate of the dental assisting program at Southeast Community College, Kari joined the ACFD dental team in November of 2011. She believes that “the team members do their best to make patients feel comfortable and like family from the moment they walk through the door until they leave the practice”. Kari was married to her husband Marty in October of 2011.

Jessica, Certified Dental Assistant


Jessica joined our team in August 2013 and has received board certification (CDA). She graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Southeast Community College in March 2012. Jessica says, “I love getting to know the patients and patient care is my top priority.” She feels blessed to be part of the wonderful staff of ACFD. Jessica and her husband Logan, were married in September of 2014 and she enjoys time with her family, watching Logan race cars, doing crafts, and spending time at the lake.

Sheena, Registered Dental Hygienist


Sheena is a 2013 graduate of UNMC and became an employee of ACFD shortly after. Prior to attending hygiene school, Sheena worked with Child Protective Services utilizing her Psychology degree. In her time at ACFD, she has realized that our team is very supportive of each other and work toward providing treatment that is in the best interest of the patient. Sheena’s goal is to help each patient obtain and maintain good oral health. Sheena is from Pender, NE and enjoys vacationing, working with children, spending time with family and playing sand volleyball. She hosts a tournament each summer in memory of her brother to raise money for a scholarship in his name. Sheena and her fiancé Jarred, will be getting married in August of 2015.

Sara, Dental Assistant


Sara started at ACFD in February of 2015 and will be graduating from Southeast Community College in June. She is excited to start getting to know the patients in our practice and do her best at giving them quality care. Sara enjoys spending time with family, going to the races and travelling. She is currently working on training a new Yorkie Poo puppy names Moose.

 Amber, Dental Assistant

amberAmber joined our practice in November of 2015, after graduating from the Dental Assisting program at Southeast Community College. She enjoys working at ACFD and feels that everyone in the office is very helpful and friendly. When she's not at work, she enjoys working out, scrapbooking and playing sports with her friends.  


 Leah, Patient Coordinator

Leah2Leah started at ACFD in May of 2016. She has previously worked in the dental field for three years. Leah loves getting to know patients and being able to interact with them, and is anxious to meet all of the great patients at ACFD. She has 3 girls that keep her busy, ages 10, 6 and 5. She enjoys camping and being outdoors, playing volleyball and spending time with her family.


Andrea, Certified Dental Assistant

AndreaAndrea has been in the dental field for 4 years, 3 of which have been at ACFD. She took some time away from us to return to UNL to finish her degree in Biology and has now returned to work with us again. Andrea is planning to attend dental school and loves working at ACFD to gain more experience with our very talented dentists. In her free time, she enjoys running, and she recently took a trip to China!
